At the park in Nashville

The kids had a great time playing at one of the beautiful parks in Nashville. Jacob dug a hole, Claire showed off her strength, and Sophia and Molly had better balance on the rolling thing than the rest of us. Erin and I ran a little and Erin and Madelyn practiced their soccer skills (and the bars). They played so hard, Molly decided to have a little rest!

Indiana Visit

We had a fantastic visit to Boonville. The kids loved staying at Aunt Jennie's house. We played at the splash park, swam at Lesley's house, and picked blueberries with the Gentry's and Eli. We rented City Pool and had Tasty Freeze. We visited great Grandad and had lots of yummy meals. The kids loved meeting Trey and baby Wes. Erin went and spent the night at Josie's new house to help - but I think she spent most of her time on their iPad. Sophia entertained everyone with her "concerts" singing Barbie songs into whatever she could find to use for a microphone. Jacob loved having boys to play with and going to football camp with Tyler. Here are some of the pictures from our visit. My camera battery died halfway through the trip so there aren't as many pictures as there should be.

Galveston Beach

A few weeks ago we went to Galveston with Aunt Lisa and Patti. We had a great time. Sophia wasn't too sure about the waves, but Erin, Madelyn, and Jacob loved playing in the water. They went out as far as we would let them and jumped the waves for hours. Even Sophia jumped a few little ones and now she likes to talk about the wave that knocked her down. We all came home tired and sunburned.

Fourth of July

We spent the 4th hanging out at home, swimming, and eating yummy Chuy's. Then we did fireworks on our street. Sophia did not like them but she did okay with the poppers and sparklers. But when Graydon lit one that sent pretty colors in the air with LOUD noises, she decided it was time for us to go inside. So we watched a Barbie movie while Erin, Madelyn, Jacob, and Graydon had fun outside. The dog HATED all fireworks and barked nonstop until after midnight when our neighborhood finally quieted down.

 

Jacob had Twilight Boy Scout camp this week. Graydon was able to go with him everyday. They had a great time. He built a toolbox and a birdhouse, and LOVED the BB guns and archery. They even got a visit from Smokey the Bear.

He doesn't really like taking pictures, so this one of him flexing is one of the most natural smiles we've gotten out of him in a while.

The girls got haircuts in Lufkin last week. Roy told Erin she looks 5 years older now. NO!!! She's growing up too fast anyway. And Madelyn's layers are very grown up. They went to soccer camp in Nacogdoches. Both girls had a great time and got great comments from the coaches.

Princess Sophia - she is such a funny girl. She loves watching Barbie movies and dressing like a princess with her high-heeled shoes. This was her outfit for running errands and eating lunch at Chili's. When I took her with me to Lonestar College to register the kids for day camp, she asked if we were at Rock Star college. And yesterday she said that she thinks we need to go back to that loud place again - "you know mom, where we go when the car is dirty."
